So I’ve been thinking about this more and more. Having an intermediate service that lets people log in from a silo is excellent for the case you’ve ((@firstname.lastname@example.org)[https://queer.party/@fluffy]) mentioned. I think I got too far with this and was wondering if they’d use this to do replies, likes and the whole range of responses one could do from their own site.
However, there’s no reason that they shouldn’t! V1 of this service could be like you mentioned. V2 could expand to allow people to hold their data their in the short term then if they get their own IndieWeb site in the future, they can do a Micropub-based export (basically a re-blasting of all of the old posts into the new system in an idempotent archival fashion).
That’s something I’m down to help build!
